TULUM AND SIAN KA’AN

Tulum & Sian Ka’an/Private

A Biosphere Reserve from the Caribean Sea
         From $ 198.00 / 5-8 Persons

A great combination for those who want to learn about the Mayan culture and swim in an ancient channel created by the Mayans as a commercial shipping route that forms one of the largest artificial rivers of fresh water in the Siaan Ka’an National Park.

The first visit will be to the archaeological site of Tulum, situated on the edge of a coastal cliff, facing the rising sun and overlooking the twinkling Caribbean Sea. The site of a Pre-Columbian Mayan city, it once served as a major port for the trading of goods from Honduras into the Yucatan. In Mayan, Tulum means “trench”, “wall” or “fence” – in reference to the thick wall that encircles the town to this day. However, research suggests that the site was once called “Zama” or “City of Dawn” – a perfect name given the breathtaking sunrises Tulum enjoys. Though more than 1,000 years old, much of the Mayan architecture remains intact, making Tulum one of Mexico’s most important archaeological sites

Our second activity will be the beautiful Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, which is a protected natural area in the Riviera Maya. It is a small center for ecotourism and environmental education which makes it an example for sustainable development in sensitive tropical ecosystems. Discover the unique beauty and enjoy this impressive place with a jungle walk that will take you to the Muyil historical site, a magnificent Mayan temple. All in one day tour in Sian Kaan.

Part of this wild adventure is cruising the beautiful lagoon by boat while your certified guide explains more about the reserve’s ecosystems and wildlife. You will even have the opportunity to swim and float in the freshwater current that passes through the channels, where you will be amazed by the different and beautiful types of mangroves and the majestic flora and fauna of the reserve. Live the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature of the Yucatan peninsula. Dare to live a different vacation choosing the Sian Ka’an Wild Adventure Tour for your next vacation in the Riviera Maya!
